I am a qualified counselling psychologist working with adolescents and adults. I have a breadth of clinical experience from working with body image issues, eating disorders, Body Dysmorphia, depression, anxiety, low-self-esteem, relationship difficulties and trauma. I have worked in various settings and contexts including the National Health Service (NHS), voluntary sector and private practice. I believe we are all fallible human beings who at times might need someone to lean on and support us when life feels overwhelming, challenging, painful and uncertain. As a psychologist my work with clients is grounded in empathy, care and compassion. I work very relational and collaboratively to create a trustworthy and respectful therapeutic alliance.
My own personal struggle with mental health has allowed me to see the importance of receiving psychological help. It ignited a desire to use my experiences to help others leading me to pursue a career in an area so close to my heart. I believe ones relationship with their therapist is fundamental to any therapeutic change. My relationship with my clients is at the very essence of my work. In order to work through difficult parts of your life having someone who understands, non-judgemental and trustworthy is essential. As human beings we need a space where are emotions are validated, allowed and accepted.
